My name is Rob, I’m an aspiring Male Model based in The West Midlands. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m relatively new to the industry and this is one big adventure and journey for me. I’ve been successful in my other life as a Pro Club DJ, I’ve played at some of the best venues in the country and abroad and during that time I’ve been told many times that I should dip my toe into modelling. “you have a look about you” “You’d make a great model” “Are you a model” If I had a pound for every time someone has said this to me I’d be far richer than I am lol! But seriously I used to just laugh it off and not take them seriously and question myself about what I was hearing.

In 2019 I worked with a local studio – Image Squad on my rebranding for my forthcoming Summer Season in Greece. This was the first time I’d spent more than 10 mins in front of a camera in a professional studio apart from the odd headshot for a flyer/radio promo. I left the studio a couple of hours later feeling inspired. I’ll admit now, I walked in wanting to leave right away as I have bricking it, wasn’t a fan off having my picture taken at all lol! But I worked with the team there, went through costume changes and different lighting set ups and because it was explained to me as we went along why certain things are the way they are and gaining a little understanding of posing and working to the lights, I actually really enjoyed it and it broke my duck. Upon reviewing the images, I allowed myself to be impressed with the results and was secretly really pleased I had gone through with the shoot. I’m very critical of my own work, it’s an ethic that stems right back to school days and it’s what has made me successful in the DJ arena. Imagine how surprised I was when I found myself going through that first set of images and applying the same scrutiny to them as I would choosing tracks for a DJ set! It was at this point I told myself I should give this some serious consideration and plan another shoot, I liked the images and new I could do better.
