Musical Theatre Performer/Make-up Artist

Josephine trained professionally as a musical theatre performer at the world famous Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. There she gained many skills and polished her existing training & skills. Training included all dance forms from ballet, tap and jazz to tango pas de deux/en pointe and street jazz. voice and acting workshops, music theory, anatomy, nutrition and fitness. Opera, musical theatre, jazz, blues and popular singing. Her musical training started with Stella Disney. Stella taught Josephine to play the Cornet. Josephine also learnt basic skills in Piano and Saxophone from which she learnt how to breathe correctly-from the diaphragm. Josephine then went on to play Cornet in The Royal British Legion Marching Band UK tour in 1996-1997. In 1997-1999 she joined an internationally touring Gospel Choir. She took part as a soloist in many public performances which included a European tour 'From The Heart' which toured France, Italy, Ireland, & the UK. She then appeared on an episode of BBC's Songs Of Praise in 1997 as one of the choir's soloists. In 2000 Josephine was a contemporary dancer in an unusual educational project called 'The Periodic Table' where she represented the chemical element Carbon, at The Junction Theatre, Cambridge. After she joined Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in 2005 a year later she was a dancer on The Brit Awards 2006. In this year Josephine also played the role of 'Deborah' in a David Mamet play 'Sexual Perversity in Chicago' at The Landor Theatre, London. In 2007 Josephine was involved with a few in-house productions with Italia Conti such as 'Saturday Night Fever' 'South Pacific' and 'A Chorus Line'. She then took part in a TIE tour of London schools in a production of Richard III playing multi-roles of Queen Elizabeth, Princess Eliza & a challenging male role Catesby. Since Graduating in 2007 from Italia Conti with a National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre. Josephine has taken part in charity events and weddings mainly singing. In 2010 she landed a couple of roles as 'Karen Harper' (editor) & glamour model/pole dancer in a new musical 'The Swan' which was originally showcased at Greenwich Theatre's Musical Futures 2005. The Swan was taken to Edinburgh's famous Fringe Festival 2010 by Kickline Theatre Company. Whilst in Edinburgh Josephine performed for another touring show 'Ma Joyce's tale's from the parlour'. Josephine also took part in the musical Anything Goes with Exeter Musical Society, in which she played Hope Harcourt. This production was on at The Barnfield Theatre, Exeter. In October 2010 she took on two roles Joan of Arc and The Crealy Witch at Crealy Great Adventure Park in the annual Halloween festival known as 'Hallowfest'. In 2011 Josephine performed at a wedding, singing the song 'Heaven' for the first dance. Also, this year Josephine achieved a diploma in make-up artistry and is now a qualified professional make-up artist which she feels is very useful within the industry. Jo just completed the roles of Lt Co Joanne Galloway in A Few Good Men with Exeter's Little Theatre Company. Also, the role of Julie in Our House-The Madness Musical and the Fairy Godmother/Cinderella in a professional new comedy production she co-wrote, called Happily Never After. Performed for Exeter Fringe Festival 2011 at The Bike Shed Theatre, Exeter.
