WELCOME TO PARKLANDS STUDIO

Parklands Photographic Studio & Location is a private photographic studio and location, based in Hinckley, Leicestershire (LE10 3AH).

Home to the Parklands Studio Photography Club, this 13 acre site is available for independent and commercial hire, provides photography and photoshop tuition, and offers photographers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of professional touring models each and every month.

THE FACILITIES

THE STUDIO - The large and fully-equipped photographic studio has everything a photographer needs to create wonderful creative imagery. Lighting, both strobe and continuous, as well mains and battery-powered, are provided, as well as a range of modifiers, backdrops, tiggers, remotes, fixings, reflectors, stands props and many other photographic aids. Photographers are welcome to bring their own lighting equipment should they wish.

THE PORTRAIT ROOM - The Portrait Room is a second studio, situated in a beautiful wooden cabin, specialised to capture portraiture and filming. As in the main studio, there is a mixture of photographic lighting, both strobe and continuous, as well as a range of photographic accessories, including a 'Triflection' reflector and 4m wide panoramic backdrop.

THE LOCATION - Situated within more than 13 acres of private land, Parklands Photographic Studio & Location provides a wonderfully varied and creative opportunity for both photographers and models alike, as well as commercial clients. The locations encompass a number of diverse and distinct features, rendering it suitable for a wide range of creative projects.

THE WORKSHOP - Parklands Photographic Studio & Location boasts a fully equipped workshop with a fantastic source of natural light.

THE INDUSTRIAL AREA - On site at Parklands Photographic Studio & Location is an industrial area that can be easily utilised for photographic purposes.

THE PIT - The pit, which is located next to the lake, is a hollow clearing which makes an excellent environment for photoshoots when a woodland arena is required.

INDEPENDENT BOOKINGS

For independent bookings, the hire charge at Parklands Photographic Studio & Location is £25ph. This hire charge grants a licence for one photographer to shoot one model, and includes use of the studio, location and facilities, as we all as studio lighting, kit and props.

Photography Club members exclusively receive the 'Club Partner Bookings' benefit; this benefit entitles two club photographers to hire the studio together, thereby reducing the total fee incurred by half for each member.

• CANCELLATION POLICY - In respect of independent bookings, a cancellation fee will not apply if a booking is cancelled two weeks prior to a scheduled date. If a cancellation occurs less than two weeks before a scheduled booking, no charge will be incurred if an alternative date is booked at the time of cancellation, otherwise the full hire cost is due. If a cancellation occurs within 48 hours of an agreed booking date, 100% of the total booking fee is due. The decision as to whether or not the cancellation policy is enforced is at the sole discretion of Parklands Photographic Studio & Location.
• BOOKING CONFIRMATION & PAYMENT - All bookings must be confirmed by Parklands Photographic Studio & Location, and will require the name, address, email and contact number of the booking party. Payments can be made by bank transfer or cash.
• DEPOSITS - Parklands Photographic Studio & Location does not, at this time, take a booking deposit. Instead, a system of 'trust' is operated. Any individual who fails to honour a booking will be banned from making any further bookings, and a small claims action will be filed.
• MULTI-BOOKING POLICY - Parklands Photographic Studio & Location operates a 'multi-booking policy'. This means that, on any given day, more than one booking may be in place at the same time. This is permissible due to the size and scope of the grounds and facilities. To avoid any potential issues it is advised that any booking which carries specific requirements informs the studio of these requirements at the time of booking.

COMMERCIAL BOOKINGS

Parklands Photographic Studio & Location is available for hire for commercial bookings.

The hire rate is dependent on the details and requirements of each individual booking.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

The Photography Club at Parklands Photographic Studio & Location is a members only photography club, suitable for photographers of all abilities and experience.

• CLUB AIMS - The Photography Club aims to provide a friendly and supportive environment where by photographers can develop their skills and learn new photographic techniques amongst fellow enthusiasts. As a studio, we take great pride in having developed an environment in which all club members can create wonderful images without fear of abuse of negative criticism.
• SESSIONS - Photography Club session run for 2-3 hours and typically cost £30-£50 per person. Each session involves models of varying experience working to different levels, and are tailored to a specific photographic genre, theme or technical aspect. Tuition, guidance and advice is provided throughout the session, however no session is prescriptive. As such, photographers are encouraged to produce imagery that is distinct to their own individual styles. No 'acknowledgement' is required to be included in the image credits, other than if the photographer wishes to disclose that the image was captured at Parklands Photographic Location & Studio (which is obviously encouraged). It should be noted that, to ensure all club members get value for money, numbers are limited for each session. If any particular session is oversubscribed however, we always endeavour to run a second session at an alternative time and/or on an alternative date.
• THE 'APPLIED PHOTOGRAPHY' SERIES - In addition to the Photography Club sessions, Parklands Photographic Studio & Location also runs periodic 'Applied Photography' sessions. These sessions, which are run as a series, look in depth at specific aspects of photography and are designed to include a greater 'teaching' element than normal Photography Club sessions. However, this does not mean that these sessions aren't suitable for the novice photographer as each specific series is taught starting with the practical subjects basic foundations; and so, regardless of experience, these sessions are suitable for everyone.
• EXCLUSIVE BENEFITS & DISCOUNTS - Parklands Photographic Studio & Location values its Photography Club members. As such, members enjoy exclusive benefits and discounts, including: (i) Access to equipment, props and outfits that are not available to non-members; (ii) 'Club Partner Bookings' whereby two club members may make an Independent or Model Tour Booking together, thereby splitting the booking fee between them. This provides an extremely eccomonical way of engaging in model photography. A 2 hour minimum booking is required; and (iii) The opportunity to join the 'Wedding & Events Team' and undertake paid photographic work (click here for more information).
• FACEBOOK GROUPS AND WHATSAPP 'BROADCAST LIST' - Photography Club Members can join our private Facebook Group and WhatsApp 'Broadcast List' which provides details of photography club meets as well as an online communal home.

TUITION 

Both photography and photoshop tuition sessions are available at Parklands Photographic Studio & Location. 

Sessions are conducted by the studio's owner Joel Hicks, who works as a professional actor, model and photographer, and each session is tailored to the specific needs of the client and their experience level.

LOCAL MODEL GROUP

Parklands Photographic Studio & Location has recruited a number of models who are relatively local to the studio. 

These models can be booked 'as and when' according to their availability, at late notice and/or in light of a cancellation.

ORGANISING A MODEL TOUR 

For freelance models, organising a tour and accommodation at Parklands Studio is very easy and straight-forward, with a tours success dependent on both the studio and model actively working together.

CCTV

The facilities available at Parklands Studio are monitored with CCTV and are registered with the ICO. CCTV is in place to protect all parties involved in a photoshoot, and each camera is in clear, full view.

CCTV footage is only viewed if: (i) a complaint is made by any of the parties involved in a booking; or (ii) damage occurs during the period of hire.

Parties involved in a booking can request to have CCTV taken offline. Whilst this is not recommended, in such a case, all parties involved will be asked to sign a simple disclaimer specific to this request, indemnifying the studio against damage, loss or any other liability, and further agreeing to cover the cost of any damage to Parklands Studio resulting from the booking.

Parklands Studio is is located at Parklands Farm, Lutterworth Road, Burbage, Hinckley, Leicestershire, LE10 3AH. The studio is easily accessed via the M1, M6 and M69 motorways, and the A5, as well as Hinckley, Nuneaton and Rugby Train Station. A pick up and drop off service is available by prior arrangement.
