Most of my time behind a camera in recent years has been spent photographing products for my online store business. However in my many years juggling lenses I have shot a range of styles and subjects ranging from motorcycle scrambling to art nudes. As I now have a little more time to spend on my personal photographic wishlist, I'm enjoying getting back to the beauty that is the human form, pushing my boundaries a bit and improving my knowledge and experience in the process. 

My private, newly-built studio is 48 sq. m. (6m x 8m) and is equipped with flash (studio and portable), led and tungsten lighting. Camera equipment is Canon EOS up to 50 Mp. image size. The studio features air conditioning, and incorporates a dressing room, shower, toilet and kitchen facilities. It has an independent entrance, despite being within the grounds of our home - a convenient place to be. For details see Y_Stiwdio on this site. For rural, outdoor shoots this is a wonderful area with beautiful, discreet locations around almost every corner.

I believe that photography - and shoots especially - should be fun. That requires input from both sides of the lens. I love to see a model who can smile - and who is not afraid to. I like the quirky and I like challenges: I work hard to 'get the shot' and love to find ways to do so. But that's a co-operative thing: both model and photographer need to be in harmony. Thus far I've been lucky (?) since all of my models have been fantastic - or better. Young or old (sorry, more mature), I don't mind. The human form is one of the most beautiful things on the planet - for me, maybe the most beautiful. I'm just trying to convey that inner beauty.

I try to do most of my creative work in the camera rather than in Photoshop, though I have perforce been required to spend a lot of time buried in PS for 'the day job' (mainly photographing products) - from which I'm now gratefully retired.

I'm told that I'm a good host, make a mean cup of tea and coffee - and prepare great lunches. What's not to like?
